When putting together your dental marketing plans have you thought about social ads?  Social ads run across the numerous different social media platforms. Sites like Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, Pintrest and numerous others provide very loyal and niche audiences.

In my opinion if you choose a platform that caters to your audience it certainly can be. Adding a Facebook campaign to your online dental marketing campaign can be beneficial.

Facebook ads provide dental practices with a marketing technique that can target new patients by narrowing down to their location.  These ads appear either along the sidebar or lower portion of the Facebook page being viewed.  They typically include a brief but captivating title, a thumbnail image and a short description with a link either to a business’ Facebook page or an external website.  Additionally, Facebook users viewing the ad can click the Facebook Like button and endorse the ad, allowing Facebook friends to view their endorsement of your dental practice. That’s great word of mouth!

Facebook has a billion total monthly users and 600 million monthly mobile users.  Additionally, Facebook ads have been 91% accurate when optimizing demographic and location data.  Facebook advertisers experience 31% higher brand awareness than the online average.

So how do you use Facebook ads to develop more new patients?

Facebook ads can be used to direct new patients to:

  • Facebook events page for information on cosmetic dentistry or teeth whitening specials
  • Facebook fan page to sign up for monthly or occasional specials
  • Like or friend the practice page

Facebook ads can be optimized to target specific types of Facebook users, especially if you offer dental services to senior citizens, families, pediatrics or others.  These same parameters can target users based upon their:

  •  Profile demographics
  •  Locale
  • Browsing habits
  • Employer

With such a tool as this, it makes sense to add Facebook ads to your online dental marketing strategy.  After all, your main business is your dental practice and not managing mass marketing campaigns and online promotional strategies.  In order to maximize results, you do need to have some cursory understanding of how Facebook ads work.  Armed with this knowledge, you can utilize Facebook ads as a key ingredient to your online dental marketing campaign.
